200/365

As much as I'd love to bake, I really don't have much time lately to do so. I always have a lot of baking ideas and decorations in mind, but I very rarely get to execute them, or if I get to, I am already cramming. Much like the cake and cupcakes that I'm supposed to make for Maddie - Adam's niece. It was 3 weeks ago since I learned that I'd be baking for her birthday and all the while, I had so much ideas on how to do it. It's a pool party, so I was imagining beach, shells - and most of all - umbrellas! Her party was yesterday and I thought since it's a Sunday, I will have plenty of time over the weekend. I have all Saturday to do everything. Wrong.

So I woke up Saturday at 12nn! I overslept and Adam was calling me at around lunch time, and he was even apologetic for having woken me up. Haha, I needed to wake up already! And then I had a mail that I had to pick up and the post office closes at 3 on Saturdays. So after a shower and a sandwich, I was headed to El Dorado Hills Post Office, only to find out that they made a mistake and my mail is actually in Folsom. So I drove back to Folsom, barely made it, got my mail and brought some stamps. It was already almost 4, and I went to Michael's to buy matching blue and pink ribbons, some glue, and some tissue to cover the cupcake tower. It was already 6 by the time I got home. And then I got on the phone, with my mom and with Adam. By the time I started mixing batter, it was already 8. Huge headache + oversleeping = yet another sleepy head. LOL.

To cut a long story short, I already have 34 chocolate chip cupcakes, 20 vanilla cupcakes, and a 6in cream cheese pound cake at 4am, fully decorated and ready to go. Talk about Iron Chef baking. I'm so sleepy. These was one of those days though that I got close to what I had in mind. Close but not quite. For one - those darn wilton paper cups are so nasty. I will never use those again to bake! I'm happy that I was able to incorporate the umbrellas in the design. The kids loved it.

Here's while I was setting up the cupcakes.

Day170.

It's a nice, sunny Saturday today. I have a real free day today because I have no plans - no date, no work, no whatsoever. I planned on sleeping in the entire morning since I haven't done that in a while, but I woke up relatively early at 930am with an empty stomach. I decided to bake a glazed lemon cake for breakfast, and I savored it with some of my roasted Jamaican coffee. It's a nice day today. :)

Day166.

My last real blog entry was last May17, it's been almost a month since I last blogged. Isn't it amazing how time flies? I was trying to think about what happened the last month, and all I could think of was endless long hours at the testers, working on weekends, eating McDonalds Quarter Pounder and Sweet Tea at 11pm since only McDonalds is open at that time.

So I paused for a while and went thinking.

The biggest thing that I could probably think of is my demise of my beloved Martha Stewart comforter. I was just trying to laundry it, so I put it in the washer and then after a few minutes in it, it was shredded! I didn't know that my washer worked as a shredder on the side. LOL. Oh well. Maybe it's meant to be. Maybe it's time to get a new comforter, if you know what I mean. ;) Oh so I did get a new one too, prettier and nicer. And the new comforter smells wonderful. Haha.

I went to Tahoe a few weekends back with Adam. Tahoe is fast becoming my own version of Baguio here. Pinupuntahan once every new season. I love Tahoe. We stayed at the same cabin that we were last winter.

I bought some new toys too over the month, a Canon 40D, a 17-55mm lens and a new 27-inch imac. I had been thinking about getting an imac for 2 years already but I cannot justify it since I have a wonderfully working pc. Then it died, woohoo! Even so, it took me a while to get that coveted imac because of some dilemma where to get it, if people are travelling to Oregon maybe they can get it for me since it's tax free there, or maybe I can drive up to Oregon myself and get it and what not. I was final-worded (haven't used this slang in a while! Embodiment ni Roy yang word na yan! LOL) by Adam, bitchily telling me to just get it once and for all. He said I had been talking about that damn imac ever since we met. And I was like, "Not! I had been talking about it for two years!". I really know how to make him laugh. LOL. So I got the imac excitedly, only to have it sitting in my living room for a week because I got too much work. Damn. Pretty much the same thing happened with the camera and the lens. It's still in its package, I haven't touched it since I got it because of too much work. I also pre-ordered the new iphone 4 today. I was so happy that I got through, after an hour of trying. How nerd can I get?

I watched very few movies this month too, I think we only went to the theater once this month and I can't remember what we watched. (Edit: it was Iron Man 2). We watched Law Abiding Citizen, the bluray we bought a month back, and only watched it last night.

I finally finished my press conference. Plancha galore ang lola mo because I had a month's worth of un-ironed clothes. It's refreshing to not have any plantsahin! LOL.

I was also pulled a few backs back for speeding at Iron Point. I was 23 miles over the speed limit, so I am expecting to pay up at around 400 bucks. Sayang pang-iphone na sana.

I can't remember anymore what else happened. I just suddenly had the time to write right now since they are fixing my tester. My darn tester won't work all day long, and I can't get anything done.

My days are still same same. SSDD as I always say - same stuff, different day. Hehe kala nyo same shit, different day no? Hehe. I'm way happier to be cursing, although re-reading my post again, I cursed a lot. Haha. I miss Creamy. I want to see Creamy my big, fat and lazy doggie.

Day137.

I'm back to work today. Snap back to reality, oh there goes gravity. I was not able to sleep well last night. Not sure if it's because of Sookie or it's the unfortunate anticipation of having to go back to work again. Life is just so good outside the test floor! Well, such is the life I have, endless buzzing of testers in the background, and sitting all day in the tester. And it's also raining today. Rainy days and Mondays. Hay.

I went to Keypoint at lunch today to do some refinancing and everything went well. I even am seriously thinking of closing my bank account at another bank because of some bad customer service that I got. I am definitely opening an account at Keypoint, just not sure about closing my other account since I have setup all my payments there.

My day went by quickly with a lot of work that I needed to catch up. See having a vacation is a bad thing, when you get back, the work is still there, and it just piled up. LOL.

I still have a little less than 100 pages of Sookie to read. So looking forward to it.

136/365

Day136.

I planned on just doing errands today before I go back to work tomorrow. However, sleepy me woke up at 12nn, and then started reading my new Sookie book, and before I knew it, it was already 3pm. I dragged myself out of my bed, and then started fixing stuff strewn in my living room. After unpacking yesterday, I left my stuff in the living room. So I started returning unused clothes back in the closet, started laundry, and what not. It started getting dark soon enough, but I pretty much got things done. I also started working on some paperwork, did accounting and worked on improving my finances. I have an appointment tomorrow at the bank, so I hope everything goes well.

While doing all of those stuff, I was so craving for some Quarter Pounder with Cheese. And for the life of me, I never craved for a Quarter Pounder! Oh well. I ended up going for a drive thru. I had it for dinner. Damn. Two burgers in one week. Hell, there goes my diet. I swear I should stop procrastinating. I need to go back to the gym.

135/365

Day135.

Say hello to my new speedy. It made it safe and sound home, after having decided to check it in.

After 2 weeks of being on the road, in hotel rooms and eating at restaurants, I am back home. So all I did today was sleep. I woke up at 10am today, just went to the bathroom, and then went back to sleep again. By the time I woke up again, it was already 2pm! Sarap! Bawing bawi na yung vacation ko. Pwede na ko ulit mag office.

So after waking up, the first thing that I did was take out my LV from its dust bag, unfolded it and took a picture. Love it really. Can't wait to wear it! It has a long strap, so I can wear it daily to work. I wonder what to wear it with? Hehe.

I went for a full body massage in the evening, as I had been having pains on my neck. Also, both feet had been really aching. The massage was so good!

Friday, May 14, 2010

134/365

Day134.

I have the biggest dilemma today. To check in or not to check in my new Speedy. I am also torn between wearing it or not. Geez, look at my problems!

I ended up packing it in the check in luggage, so I wont be with my Speedy in the flight. After packing, I checked out of the hotel and went to the last day of the conference. It was supposed to end at lunch. After getting into the auditorium at 8am, Tony told me that Sleeping Beauty aka Mike wanted to get a ride from me. I picked him up at the break with Vic. Good thing Vic came with me because I forgot my driver's license at my purse!

For lunch, we went to Thai Orchid, and then we all headed already to the airport. We sat for a bit at the pub by the gates, and then Mike and Tony went ahead with their 420pm flight, while Hy and I waited for our 625pm flight. Mike was supposed to wait for me at SMF and Easley will be picking us both up at the same time. I am back in California at 740pm, and it's still daylight. Easley and Emilyn picked us up, and they gave me a belated birthday gift! They gave me a small Coach hand purse. I am ecstatic! We went drive through at In-N-Out, and then ate dinner at Mike's place. After a good chat, we all went home.

It was nice to be back in California, it's nice to be back home. :)

133/365

Day133.

It's a LVoe day today. I bought my LV Monogram Speedy Idylle 30 in Fusian today at downtown Portland. Hay.

We went to Jack's Crawfish Restaurant at downtown Portland for lunch. I had the Crawfish Etouffe, which had been may ultimate discovery in New Orleans. My Etouffe even had a cooked crawfish with shell on it. It was good, but not as good as the one we ate at Mother's in New Orleans. After lunch, we headed down to Pioneer Place to hunt for my new Speedy. I had been lusting about this new Speedy for months already, and upon getting there, I had to think twice again if I'm getting it. Hell, only if buying a purse was easy! After much ado, I am holding an LV paper bag with my new LV Monogram Speedy Idylle 30. Love!

We then went to Macy's to get clothes for the Hugo kids, and then we went to Starbucks to get the mugs. And then we went back again to Hillsboro, to meet with Richelle, Orly and Keira for dinner. We had dinner at Famous Dave's and the baby back ribs were awesome! I had fun at dinner, and Keira was just to adorable! She even gave me a card that she made!

132/365

Day132.

We went to eat lunch today at that same Japanese restaurant that we went to yesterday. I wanted to eat at a Thai restaurant but Hy would rather eat at the same Japanese restaurant rather than eat curry. Oh well. So Hy, Mike and I went to eat some Japanese. I ordered the same Salmon and Eggs combo, together with some Soft Shell Crabs. We also ordered a roll called Angry Dragon Roll for appetizer. Too much food, too much food.

The afternoon went by, albeit sluggishly with all the conference sessions and then we were supposed to go to the conference banquet. However, Tony - Mike's boss, wanted to just go have dinner else where. So we went to Ten-01, a posh fine dining restaurant at downtown Portland. We were there for dinner, and they served us with complimentary appetizers. A praline, coated nut, cream and arugula. Some pretentious appetizer, I must say. It's complimentary anyway, so can't complain. I then ordered from some Veal, while they got Lamb and Duck. Dinner came, and it was pretty good. There was just enough portion to get us filled, but not really super busog. We still had room for dessert. Hy, Tony and I got the Zepolli with Lemon Curd, while Mike had the Chocolate Truffle. The Zepolli is the Italian version of the Beignets. Yummy!

After dinner, we decided to walk off the calories, and we went to Powell World of Books. It was a really huge bookstore. I got 2 books, one book that I forgot the title, and the other was the 10th Sookie Stackhouse book. I'm excited to go home to Folsom and read.

Tuesday, May 11, 2010

131/365

Day131.

I was supposed to go to the site today at 745am. I planned to I swear. However for some reason, my alarm was at 730am, my usual Folsom alarm. Sheesh.

So I called Hy after waking up to tell him I won't be able to make it at 745am. I just told him that to pick me up at lunch. I should have just rented my own car here, so I don't depend on other people for rides. Talk about department cost cutting.

So we had lunch at this Japanese restaurant that I forgot again (shit I'm starting to get really forgetful, bad bad bad), and I had some soft shell crabs and salmon sashimi. And then the afternoon session went by. I am so proud of myself for staying awake for all the afternoon classroom sessions. Maybe I could study again. LOL.

Chris, my boss, paid for dinner at Newport Restaurant. I had some Shrimp and Crab Filled Salmon with Lemon Butter Sauce. I swear I'm going to look like a Salmon already.

Then Mike, Hy and I went to Washington Square to check out the apple store. I wanted to buy an IMAC here to save money with the tax free shopping. I didn't buy yet, I called Southwest if I could hand carry it. They said I cannot. Damn. We looked around at Macy's and Nordstrom for clothes for the Hugo kids. And then we went for dessert at the Cheesecake factory. I barely ate my Red Velvet cheesecake. I am so full, I feel like throwing up right now.

Monday, May 10, 2010

130/365

Day130.

I'm in Oregon today. It's my first ever business trip here in Oregon and weather is gloomy. I don't like it here. It's not that Oregon is not nice, it is absolutely beautiful. I'm just not the type of person who can live in Forks. I hate rain. I need my sunshine, even if it's cold. I want bright white sunlight.

First day at work though was good. It was productive with a lot of trainings and sessions. Lunch was pretty good too with some crab cakes.

I had a wonderful dinner today with Richelle, Orly and Keira - their Tagalog speaking 3 year old. She's so cute! I absolutely adore her. And then Mike joined us afterwards for dinner. We went to Thai Elephant for dinner, and as usual, I had my Pad Thai dose. The Tomyum was also good. I had a good time talking to Keira in Tagalog with her diverse vocabulary. If I ever have a kid, I will make sure - kid will speak Tagalog. Even if I get a new dog, I will make sure the dog will understand when I say halika, taas, baba, upo, tayo - like my Creamy.

I had a lot of chili food today. I won't be surprised if I wake up with upset stomach tomorrow. God forbid.

129/365

Day129.

My short vacation is over. I should be leaving today for Oregon and my vacation went very fast! It was so much fun nevertheless. We woke up a little late today (pretty early still for my California body clock though), and had breakfast at the Mantaring's. It was a wonderful breakfast of some homemade burritos, beignets that Annie bought from Cafe Du Monde, and some chocolat de cacao. I haven't had that hot chocolate since I was in college when my mom used to make it a home with some coconut milk. It tasted similar to how my mom made, except for the coconut milk part. It was a fun breakfast, and the Mantarings are so welcoming. They made me feel at home, and I even invaded Leslie's room, and slept with Bruno the dog. After breakfast which is kind of a brunch actually, we prepared to drive back to Austin. My flight's leaving from Austin. At around 1, we were on our way to Austin, not after a picture with Bruno. We stop at the deli place which sells good sandwiches for lunch. I forgot the name of that popular place. It's something that's hard to spell. LOL.

And then I was already checking in at around 345pm. It was my first time flying with Southwest, and I didn't know that Southwest had free seating. Hell. Of course, I will always end up seated in the middle this way.

After a stopover in Denver, and rough 5 hours of flying, I am in Portland. I had to take a cab because Hy, who I'm supposed to carpool with, decided to visit his parents in Tacoma. I got to Marriott at 10pm.

128/365

Day128.

Here we are at the famous Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans. This was our last stop before we started driving back to Houston.

After checking out of the hotel this morning, we walked around to find a place to eat. We were walking around the famous streets of New Orleans and it feels more festive and touristy in the day time. After seeing St Louis Cathedral and the Louisiana Museum facade, we went to eat. I had some Bayou Omelette, with some crawfish on it. I never knew what crawfishes were, George gave me an overview of what those are. Haha. They're actually pretty good. I love seafood in general anyway, so this one's a good addition.

After a hearty brunch, we went around for a bit, went inside the cathedral. And then we had coffee at Cafe Du Monde. The beignets were awesome with a lot of powdered sugar on it! It was pretty addictive.

We were headed to Houston shortly after, and we got there in time for Tita Lorna's Mother's Day dinner. We went to a Japanese place which I also forgot. I really need to start remembering the names of the restaurants that I go to. I salmon sashimi were good, and the rolls were also yummy. And after dinner, George, Annie and I went to have coffee at the Starbucks in Town Square. We made tambay at the Town Square park until midnight. Hay, kakamiss may kasama magkape after dinner!

Friday, May 7, 2010

127/365

Day127.

Happy Birthday bitch! Haha, yeah it's my birthday today. And it's New Orleans' Day today. George, Annie and I are driving to New Orleans.

After 9 hours, with 2 hours wasted on traffic at I-10, we were at the Big Easy. It was nice, pretty different. It had a bit of that French/European vibe. We checked in at the Intercon, and then we walked around first at the Harrah's and the walk by the Mississippi River. And then we went to dinner at Mother's Restaurant. It's a popular local restaurant that serves the best ham, po-boys and seafood. We had the combination and the seafood platter. Everything on the plates were so good! Even the fries tasted different, just yummy!

We then went to walk around again, since it was still pretty early to go to Bourbon. We went to check out Cafe Du Monde, but decided to have coffee the next day there instead since we are still so full. We went walking around. The city was quite fascinating. It had that old city feel, a little mystery, a little dark. We stopped by the casino for a bit too. We went back to the hotel for a bit of nap, and then off we went to party. We then went to Bourbon wearing our Mardi Gras beads. George had drinks, Annie had a bit, and I had a sip. I told myself I'm not getting drunk in New Orleans so I didn't drink alcohol. George even saw his old roommate in Bourbon St. It was fun partying there, guys throw beads at girls on the street once the girls had flashed them with their chests. Pretty crazy huh!

It was a fun night, we went to sleep at 3am. I so love Intercon's bed. So nice to sleep in.

This has got to be the best birthday yet. Too bad Adam's not here.

Thursday, May 6, 2010

126/365

Day126.

The party was a blast. We had too much food, too much cupcakes and now I'm so full. Taba taba. If I could just make myself sleep early to wake up early tomorrow. New Orleans baby! :)

Wednesday, May 5, 2010

125/365

Day125.

I'm in Austin! And to start off my vacation, George and Annie took me to Home Style Pizza. Didn't get the chance to eat there the last time I was here since we were always too full by the time we get there.

My flight was ok. I realized that as I grew older, I am starting to get scared of the most mundane things. Like flying. :) But I got to Austin perfectly fine.

Happy cinco de mayo everyone! :)

Tuesday, May 4, 2010

124/365

Day124.

I made hatid Adam to the airport today. He's gonna be out in Poland for 2 weeks. Too bad he's not here for my birthday. His vacation had been scheduled long before I even met him. Oh well. He gave me a motorcycle helmet for my birthday. I thought the car stereo was already the gift. :)

I'm gonna be out to see Annie and George tomorrow too. I'm flying to Austin. It's going to be fun.

Monday, May 3, 2010

123/365

Day123.

It's my last day of work for the week. I'm going on vacation for my birthday. I'm just making excuses to go have a vacation and I'm using my birthday. I'm so freaking stressed with too much work that I need a break! So, last day of work. I also went to dinner with Adam tonight, he's leaving for Poland tomorrow. He's had a tough year, he needs a vacation too. :)

Sunday, May 2, 2010

122/365

Day122.

I had a wonderful day today with the girls. Thet, Emelyn and I went to the Galleria Mall in my attempt to use my 25% of Coach Store discount. I am so proud of myself that I did not impulse buy. We also checked out the new LV Monogram Idylle Speedy. Hay, a girl can dream right?

Saturday, May 1, 2010

121/365

Day121.

Somebody knows how to use the curling iron now. Kulot salot.

Wednesday, April 28, 2010

118/365

Day118.

I got a free coffee postcard today from Starbucks. Nice eh?

Tuesday, April 27, 2010

117/365

Day117.

Pinoy macaroni salad just the way I like it. No raisins, no carrots, lots of onions and lots of cheese. Sarap.

Monday, April 26, 2010

116/365

Day116.

I am so craving for some red sauce pasta today. I decided to go grocery shopping so that I could make some pasta. I need some carbs.

Here's my dinner. Spicy Marinara Alla Vodka. Can't get any better than this.

Pangit lang picture pero masarap yan. :)

Sunday, April 25, 2010

115/365

Day115.

I went on a "family" day today. I so hate waking up earlier than my work day especially on a weekend, but shempre it's inevitable once in a while. Much like today. I had to wake up at 6am today because we're going on a 3 hour drive to Monterey. The plan is to go to the Aquarium and then spend the rest of the day in the beach.

After getting there, we ate Paninis for lunch and then we went inside the aquarium.

The aquarium was very similar to what is in the Science Museum in San Francisco, but much bigger and diverse. The kids had fun, and so did I. We spent a little more than 3 hours in the aquarium, and then we had some Clam Chowder afterwards. Then off we went to the bay, where we stayed by the beach until sunset. Then we were so hungry afterwards that we decided to go to the first restaurant that we see. We saw PF Changs. What the, hanggang Monterey ba naman. Hehe. It was a fun day. I just wish though that the drive wasn't that long.

Saturday, April 24, 2010

114/365

Day114.

I had some Chicken Joy today. Jojo and I went to lunch at Seafood City Jollibee and I had some a 2-piece Chicken Meal with Mashed Potatoes and Peach Mango Pie. Parang nasa pinas ka rin lang. Sarap!

I also did some online errands that I needed to do. Pay bills, send receipts for reimbursements, etc.

Friday, April 23, 2010

113/365

Day113.

I had been craving for Pad Thai real bad. Too think that I just ate some with the Tatays a few days ago at Thai Paradise. I have a lunch out today with Dan, Jorel and Brian. Brian is a Sort guy, he is here on a business trip and Chris is paying for lunch today. Too bad he wasn't able to come. He said paid for it though. I had some yummy Tofu Pad Thai, and Jorel was surprised that I ate a lot!

I planned on leaving work early today for the get together tonight for Jojo's Advance Despedida. I promised some desserts, and I don't have anything yet. Yet again, it's always the same deal - Murphy's law. Something will always go wrong when you're supposed to leave already. Darn it.

After much ado, I was finally able to leave work at around 430pm. Or maybe a little after that, because I got home after 5 already. I had some mini cupcakes and the cheesecake sheet that I baked last night. I baked some Cream Cheese Pound Cake quickly, I had it in the oven after about 15minutes. While that was baking, I started decorating the mini cupcakes. After that, I started to unmold the cheesecake. I broke the cheesecake! It's been years since I broke anything that I baked, and this is like one of those malas days. After much contemplating, I was still able to salvage some of the cheesecakes. Hay.

I was all set even with the ruined cheesecake. I frosted the Pound Cake with some French Buttercream which melted on it because the cake was still hot. Adam arrived a little after 7, and we were on our way shortly. The cakes were good though, even if they're not really picturesque. Hehe.

Thursday, April 22, 2010

112/365

Day112.

Today's probably the last time in a while that I'm eating at Mizu because my Mizu buddy is leaving. Kami lang naman mahilig kumain ng hilaw na isda dito. Oh well. Jojo and I went to Mizu for lunch today, together with Mike and Russ. Too bad Easley can't come today.

I got my first (and might be the only) present for my birthday this year. Jojo gave me some Ghirardelli chocolate blocks. Aww, I'm so touched. Thanks Jo!

Wednesday, April 21, 2010

111/365

Day111.

I have stopped eating pork for sometime now. I eat a piece here and there once in a while, but I haven't really had a full pork meal. I'd been wanting to eat meat for sometime already and I wanted something just slightly salty. Just the meat, and then some salt and pepper. I saw some butterfly pork chops in my freezer and I decided I'm eating pork today.

I marinated the pork on some kikkoman, salt, pepper and garlic powder for 15 minutes, and then I fried it on peanut oil at high heat. It smelled so good!

I then ate my fried pork, and did not even finish half of it. The craving was immediately satisfied, I really am not used to eating pork anymore. Naumay ako agad. The meat was good though. Perfectly seasoned and perfectly done, just the way I liked it.

Tuesday, April 20, 2010

110/365

Day110.

I woke up today at 730am, and I checked the weather. It was raining outside and I wanted to know how cold it was. It said the low was 45F, and I see the reading at 44F. What the? Wrong weather forecast?

Monday, April 19, 2010

109/365

Day109.

Jojo picked me up for lunch today, he bought some pizza that we will bring at Thet's place. We are having lunch there. This is probably one of the last few lunches that we'll have with Jojo. He is moving, long story.

Anyway, he bought some Papa John's, and I like their pizza with the Butter Garlic sauce. Thet also had some adobo and it was yummy. I had a good lunch, and I would have stayed longer had I not been really busy at work. I am so tired, I want to go to the spa after this. I hope to deliver everything tomorrow, and then I would have a mini break.

So I got home at 9pm. This is wrong, I can't be like this. Just work and sleep, and nothing else? This is bad.

Sunday, April 18, 2010

108/365

Day108.

This is my first time making a mousse. I'm not really big on mousse, I want my cakes dense, fudgy and chewy. I want some bite on my cake. However, being the baker that I am, I love the challenge of making something that I have never tried before. This is a cheesecake and strawberry mouse cake. It wasn't as hard and delicate as I thought it would be. Last night while doing the mousse, I was thinking of just eating the cake by myself at home, and then share a few slices with Thet, Jojo and Adam when I see them. I wanted to indulge on the cake, while eating in my sofa and watching some bluray with some chips and ice cold coke. Of course that's after I take a nice picture of a slice of it. Nice plan. Adam called me last night and he said he's doing barbecue for lunch because his mom just came back from Poland. At the back of my head, I was thinking of making a dessert for the lunch. And then I though, what the hell, the mousse is going to be the dessert. Goodbye indulgence, goodbye nice pictures.

I woke up late today, so even the photos of the whole cake was not nice. I was in such a hurry, but I cannot just leave my very first mousse cake undocumented. Photo is not that bad eh?

I got to their place after about 40mins, and then after the whole lunch, we had the cake and it was awesome. I did not care how they liked the cake, I loved it. It tasted so good, I need to make some again. :)

Day107.

"How come you don't make brownies? You don't even have photos of brownies?"

"I don't make brownies because it's not challenging..."

"But I love Brownies!"

"Ok...."

Hence, I present to you, my chocolate fudge brownies. For a baker, it's weird that I'm not really a chocolate person. I make darn good chocolate cupcakes, but they're not my favorites. I love my butter cakes and cheesecakes better, I can eat them all day, everyday.

Day106.

Stress is taking its toll on me. I have pimples, eye bags, the works. Work schedule is really crazy, and all I do now is just work, eat, sleep. Even if I got out, that's all I do - just eat. I can't muster the strength to go watch a movie at the theater, or get a coffee and sit back at a coffee shop. I just eat, don't hang out and sleep. I need a vacation.

Today's just another crazy day at work. Good thing there is a shutdown in the weekend, and they're starting to turn off the testers all weekend. That doesn't guarantee that Monday won't be hectic, but at least I'm guaranteed with a no-phone call weekend.

I was already out of work at 5, and for the first time in ages, I got to see the sun after going out of work. I was headed home, planning to take a nap before I see Adam later. The nap probably took longer because Adam was already knocking at my door. It was already 730pm and we were supposed to see a movie at 8. Oh well. At least I got some sleep. We went to see Date Night, and I wasn't expecting anything out of the movie. I just want some good laughs, and I did! Steve Carrell and Tina Fey together was hilarious. I like movies with no sense. Funny nonsense movies. Date Night is funny, you should go see it.

Day105.

It's Iya's birthday today. Happy birthday Iya! :)

104/365

Day104.

Ok, so my blog has become the 365 days blog. Just blog. No photos. A whole week without a picture!

Today is hectic. Super hectic. Everyone was in a rush to get something from me - units to fuse, vsop module fix, etc, etc. And me? Chilling out at 398, ditching every meeting possible. I am seated at my tester the whole day, only getting up to go to the bathroom and getting a quick lunch with Easley. It was already 8pm when I finally went home.

Tuesday, April 13, 2010

103/365

Day103.

I did not anticipate the work load that I have today. So much issues, so much stuff to do. I can't even get a proper lunch! All I ate were some cheese sticks!

I told Adam that I'm getting off work today at 530pm because my last meeting for the day ends at 530. Wrong. It's already freaking 630 and I'm still in a meeting. This meeting is dragging on, and on and on. Hy was IM-ing me, "Yup, we're here til 7". Once it actually finished and I was rushing home, who do I bump with? Who else.

After a minor glitch, I'm at my parking spot back home a few minutes after. Adam's car was parked next to my slot, and he was sleeping. I had to wake him up. Poor guy. He's been waiting for at least an hour. I'll just pay for dinner. LOL. He has the new brushes for my mixer, my brushes were broken already. Speeds 6, 8, and 10 are all the same, so no high speed for me.

While driving, we saw Thet and Mike at the stoplight. Hehe. We had dinner at Jacks, had some steak salad and blue cheese fries. Yummy. I did not realize that I was already hungry.

102/365

Day102.

It's raining. Like ulan pinas. And it's so cold. It's colder here now than it is in New York, according to my new data plan from at&t. Grrr. I did not want a data plan, I have enough internet, thank you very much. However, they detected that I am using an iphone (which by the way, I did not purchase from them but still want to milk money from it) so they added a data plan for my phone. Yup, 30 bucks per month. What the heck. I can't do anything about it so might as well put it to good use. Check the weather, check the stocks, check my mail - all every 2 freaking minutes.

My day went by quickly. No meetings. No sightings. I went to CVS afterwork to get some more of my prescriptions and then went home.

It's nice to lie down and just relax on a cold cold day especially when the sheets are fresh. Lovett.

I watched Up today. Nobody warned me about it. I cried buckets over the movie! It was kind of like my turning point this time. When you make a decision to be happy with what you have in your life right now, kind of live-in-the-moment thing. There's no point in crying over spilled milk anymore. Not after having been given with so many blessings and so many reason to be happy.

Today I made a decision to be happy with my life, and I'm sticking with it.

101/365

Day101.

It's freezing! Brrrr. Why is it so damn cold in April?

I slept at 3am today. What was I doing? Girl pampering. I manicured and pedicured my nails, waxed, plucked my eye brows, masked my hair. All those stuff that I rarely get to do and I really have no time for. While at it, I was doing my laundry at the same time.

So 3am. And I woke up with a text from Jojo at 1030.

"What time simba?"

"Jojo, isdatchu?" (insert sarcasm here, kasi he rarely goes to church)

"Yeah what time?"

"1130"

"Ok"

So there, we went to church at 1130. We saw the Quevadas again there, and we all ate together at the Vietnamese restaurant in Bidwell. Tag gutom, kanina pa kong 3am gutom.

After lunch, Jojo and I went to H&R block beside Raley's to get our taxes done. I got mine done quickly, paying only 68$ and getting good refunds. Jojo is coming back on Tuesday, he needs more documents.

It started raining so hard and I was supposed to drive to Rocklin to meet Adam. Paminsan minsan ako naman magdadrive. I got there around 4, and both he and his sister were so hungry. I didn't know that they were waiting for me to get lunch! They said they just had brunch and were waiting for me to eat out. It was already 4 when I got there, I didn't know!

Even if I was still full, we went to Arigato Sushi. Magda was paying for food. Nice. I had some Salmon Sashimi. Yummy. We went to Bed, Bath and Beyond afterwards, they're getting few stuff for the house since their mom is arriving on Wednesday from Poland. Afterwards, we parted ways with her sister, her going shopping in Nordstrom, and us going to Fry's to buy some subwoofer for my car. We got a nice sub for my car for 99$ on sale, originally from 139$. I wish my radio would already arrive. Don't tell anyone, but Adam is paying for it. LOL.

We went to get some gelato at the Fountains aftewards. I had some Strawberry and Pannacota, Adam had Pistachio, Hazelnut and Raspberry. Yum. Everything was yummy. Then we just had some potatoes and chips for dinner. I don't eat chips. It's been a year since I had those, and I didn't really miss it. I had a few and I was done. But Peaches the chihuahua can't get enough.

Saturday, April 10, 2010

100/365

Day100.

It's 100! I am barely keeping up with the blog. I am always always always sleepy and tired from working. It's too much work. They don't pay me enough. LOL.

I had a whole day open today, had no plans. However, after waking up at noon, I was so hungry. Jojo wanted a Mizu lunch so off we went. And then we went to Treehouse for the Open House Viewing. I want to buy a house. Then we went to CVS to get my prescriptions. Then we went to Best Buy and saw the Quevadas there. It was already 5pm when we parted.

Then, there was the dinner. We went to dinner at New Canton - me, Jojo and Norman. We had a hearty meal of all the Chinese food that we can eat. I was so full.

It was fun not planning the day. I had fun.

Friday, April 9, 2010

99/365

Day99.

It's Murphy's Law Day today for me. Anything that could go wrong, went wrong today. Friday of all days. Had a lot of stuff to fix in the test program, and it's supposed to go out for release today. Damn. I had been working my butt off all day.

We were supposed to watch Date Night today, but I was too dead tired for a movie. We went for a scrumptious Vietnamese meal instead. Yum.

I wish it weren't raining today. It's so cold.

Thursday, April 8, 2010

98/365

Day98.

Today is one of those SSDD days. Nothing special. Sun is up today though, it's nice weather outside. I've noticed that weather is a big deal here. I never checked the weather back home unless there's a typhoon. I'd even hear about the typhoon if my parents or friends told me. Now I check the weather everyday. What's up with that?

I met Mang Manuel today at the test floor. He's Pinoy, and he's a very nice soft spoken old man. He works as a cleaner here, and has been here for 7 years. He said that his daughter is already graduating this summer from UC Davis. He was all giddy talking about his wife who also works here as a cleaner, and their daughter. He said he'd invite me over to their house for the graduation party. It warmed my heart. I wanted to cry. Drama galore.

Wednesday, April 7, 2010

97/365

Day97.

I was craving from some Cheese Pimiento today. As in Pinoy Cheese Pimiento. Or the closest one that I could make. Adam and I went to Costco to get what I need, and then go get dinner afterwards. When we got there, the smell of the roasted chicken was heavenly, so we just decided to get chicken, and eat at home. We got the whole roasted chicken straight off the oven, then I got my Cheese Pimiento ingredients - Red Cherry Peppers, Sharp Cheddar Cheese (I would have wanted a Ques-O or Eden from the Filipino store but it's too far) and some Mayonnaise. We also got some freshly baked sourdough breads and some lettuce for salad.

When we got home, I made the cheese pimiento, and it was sooo good! I added a dash of salt, pepper, sugar, and voila - some spread for the sourdough. And with a can of coke each, dinner was awesome.

Day96.

What's worse than feeling sleepy? Sleepier. Aren't you getting bored of my blog? LOL. All I talk about is me feeling sleepy. I think I should get some vitamins, or some Red Bull, because I'm always sleepy. At least I don't talk about depression anymore, right? Because I'm not. At least not anymore. Hehe.

I finally decided to transfer photos from my camera. And I finally decided to take a picture of the macarons sitting in my fridge. I wanted to do one more color before taking a picture, but that won't probably happen anytime soon. Here are my Macs, with French Buttercream filling.

Monday, April 5, 2010

95/365

Day95.

Mondays are always hectic. Good thing my boss is out today, so 2 meetings less on a Monday. That means I get to work more in the test floor, and I get to see less of Mr Pa-P. Good deal. It's input freeze today, one of the few days in a week where I actually have a deadline. I'm a slacker at work, I tell you. I don't really work on something unless I have a deadline. I'm sooo lazy. And you think a good rating will motivate me? Noooo. Hell no.

I'm so sleepy. Lazy, sleepy, hungry. I'm too lazy to cook and eat today, so I'm just going to sleepy. Night everyone.

Sunday, April 4, 2010

94/365

Day94.

Happy Easter everyone! Today's cold outside. Raining, wet and cold. Just the perfect hate weather, I kid not.

I made breakfast today, savory and sweet crepes. Breakfast at my house is a rare occasion, one - me being a late riser, and two - me being a non-breakfast eater. A cup of coffee is just perfectly fine for me, and I'll wait until lunch for a full meal. The savory crepes were just some Bacon, Onions and Cream Cheese Filling. The sweet crepes were filled with fresh strawberries, strawberry jam and Cream Cheese. A cup of Jamaican roast coffee with White Chcolate on the side. Yum.

After a filling breakfast, Jojo called for an SOS. He had a flat tire at Downtown Sac. Adam and I were going to church, and we went to pick up Jojo before going. I thought the mass was at 1130, but they have a different schedule for Easter. We got there, and it's already communion! Oh well. We then went to Downtown, Adam and Jojo got some air for the tires and we went to lunch for some good Dumplings, Hacao, and all the other Chinese Dimsum that we can eat at New Canton. Adam and I were just there last night! It was funny how close Jojo was last night to us when he had a flat tire but never called us.

Day93.

I had a wonderful Saturday. Sleeping in on a weekend and going out at night, what's not to love? My day started out pretty early for a Saturday. I woke up at 9 in the morning, then started pre-heating my oven to make Macarons. It was all good, I finally made acceptable Macarons. :) Then I had lunch at home with some Lumpia and Eggs (what a combo), and then the afternoon went by really quick, with some work stuff, and then cleaning up the house afterwards. Then went out at about 7 at night to go downtown sac. We went to a comedy bar, had a good 2-hour of laughs, then went to dinner at New Canton at 11pm. Back to Folsom at midnight. Pretty early for Cinderella. Guess I'm getting old. :)

Friday, April 2, 2010

92/365

Day92.

It's Jojo's last day today and free lunches are all over. We had free lunch at Mizu today with Russ and Hy. I had my Salmon Sashimi fix again. People still don't get it why I love Sashimi. They don't have to get it. :) I just love it, and I don't have to explain myself to anyone.

I had my review download today. I did well. I got good reviews. I just wish that there was a bigger budget and I wish it correlated with my pay increase. I don't need adulation. I need money. Show me the money. LOL.

91/365

Day91.

So ok, I am officially an April Fool's Day victim. While we were having lunch at BJ's today for Jojo's Farewell Lunch, Adam texted me that he got caught for speeding, paying up 600$ and his driver's license suspended. I was like, what the heck?!! I can't be driving all the time for 6 weeks! So I called him, and he was laughing his ass off because he actually fooled me. He never thought that I'd buy it. So there. Me and my gullible self.

Lunch at BJ's was good, I had an Angel Hair Toscana. I used to have a very minimal preference when it comes to pasta. White sauce, chicken, shrimp and pasta. That's it. I'd been trying out a whole bunch of stuff since. Today what I had had some Feta Cheese, Pine Nuts, Sun Dried Tomatoes, Basil, Olive Oil. Yum. Even though the food was good, the serving was pretty huge so I can't finish it. And we had some Avocado Egg Rolls for appetizer. Yum.

89/365

Day89.

Had a fun day making cupcakes and letting the kids decorate the cupcakes. That's about the highlight of my day today.

Monday, March 29, 2010

88/365

Day88.

I'm officially baking again and to start off my baking spree, I am making some Macarons for the first time. Macarons are the new Cupcakes now. Shops selling these had been popping all over and they sell it at an exorbitant 1.95$ per piece!

These are my first ever Macarons. I used some Almond flour that I made out of whole Almonds that I bought. I ground the almonds in the food processor and got some really nice flour.

I think I did well for the first time, but I'm not happy with it. Perfection. Perfection. Some of the Macarons had cracks on the surface, and these are supposed to be really smooth, delicate little pastries. As I got them out of the oven, I was disappointed that I had cracks. So what I did was to make what I do perfectly - Buttercream. I just filled the Macarons with Swiss Buttercream. They tasted heavenly!

I want to bake more. I want perfection.

Day87.

I have a new toy! I got a shiny new Kitchen Aid Food Processor today at Fry's. See yesterday, Adam and I went to the Bingo place at Madison. I think I only played Bingo once with my Mama back home - I think in Sta Lucia Mall, and I won for her 5K Php. It was a big amount back then. So last night, Adam thought of bringing me to play Bingo because we played dummy Bingo at their place once with his sister. We each bought a 10$ worth of Bingo, where there were 10 games to play. We totally had no idea how to get a Bingo and how to win, and there was this nice old lady who we sat next to, and was explaining to us how to win and stuff. I was not getting any luck with my cards, not even close. On the fourth game though, Adam asked me how my cards are doing, and I said, "not even close" for the nth time. Then all of a sudden, one of my face cards starting picking up, and before I knew it, I had a Bingo. I had to ask the old lady if I really won, and she shouted Bingo for us! Haha. I really won. I won 250$ for that game! And an employee at the Bingo came over to me and handed me the cash instantly. Flashback to yesterday, I was actually dreaming of a shiny chrome Kitchen Aid Food Processor, and I was already looking online where to buy it when I get my paycheck. Now I don't have to wait. :)

Happy happy weekend. I got a new toy, and I'm thinking of all the possibilities - yummy possibilities. I'm more excited to bake now. I say I need to add more thread mill time, or else, as they say at baking911, what you eat today will show in your tummy tomorrow.

Saturday, March 27, 2010

86/365

Day86.

It all started with a startling discovery. As I was looking for a Stapler, I started looking in all of my cabinets around the house. I discovered that I have a sparky brand new Black and Decker blender sitting quite nicely in one of the kitchen cabinets. I have a blender! I have a blender, that I remember now, but I don't remember buying it. I'd been thinking since last night - where and when did I buy it? I can't remember. Anyway, I started sifting through my kitchen stuff just so I know what I have. I started finding stuff and I'd go - do I really have this? Nice. Oh how fun! Tons of unused food colors, gel pastes, gum pastes, fondant. Unused veiners, cutters, rollers, tips. Extracts galore - Vanilla, Chocolate, Orange, Lemon, Raspberry. And liquers - Chambord, Whisky, Godiva, Grand Marnier. Gawd. What happened to me.

My Martha Stewart wannabe alter-ego is back. (Insert twilight zone soundtrack here.)

***

Just so I will remember where to look for it, I am blogging an inventory of my pans. I'm missing a few, maybe I left those back home.

1 Tube Pan 9X5 inch

Epic fail today. I tried baking today, pero wala akong na-bake. Wala akong naaccomplish today. Lousy lousy lazy ass.

Pero ayan may picture.

Day84.

I finally have a photo of the Seven Sisters in San Francisco after having gone there for the nth time. Also referred to as The Painted Ladies, these picturesque houses are located near the Alamo Square. I wonder if people still live here or they're just tourist attractions. It's in the opening credits of Full House.

Jojo and I went to the cocktail night at the California Academy of Science, also in San Francisco. It was a cool night at the museum. We dressed up going there since it's going to be a party! We had dinner, then watched an HD show at the planetarium and just went around the museum all night. It was awesome. Cocktails and alcohol were served at the museum, so no kids allowed. :)

Happy birthday ulit Jo! :)

Wednesday, March 24, 2010

83/365

Day83.

Once in a while, I take out all what's inside my purse to clean out dust inside. What's in my purse? There in the photo. It's a minimal purse though. You should see my everyday office purse. Daming abubot. I'll spew it out one of these days. :)

Tuesday, March 23, 2010

82/365

Day82.

I'm so excited. I finally got my lazy ass moving today and I actually got stuff done at home. I was able to do my laundry (but still have to iron), put in the new brown sheets that I bought ages ago, packed my balikbayan box (I'm officially an OFW! Kahit ayaw ko magpa-box. Hehe.), cleaned up my closet, cleaned the bathroom, watered the orchid, wiped the mirrors, threw out stale food from the fridge, and everything in between. I cleaned the whole house basically. Amazing no?

After all those stuff, I'm a lot more excited now to go to bed. Look at what I did to my bed. I put on a canopy! Matutulog na ko. Now na.

Monday, March 22, 2010

81/365

Day81.

It's Monday again. I hate hate Mondays. Hate hatest. I hate Monday because I have 4 meetings on Mondays. But today, things looked up, with 3 meetings cancelled. I had more time to get work done in the tester.

I bought Barbie Dolls for Berylle today. I love Barbie Dolls. There's the Black Label collection sold at Target. I don't want to start buying, because I want to buy everything!

Ang pangit ng picture. Totoo sabi ni Kokey, pag raw hindi na depressed, hindi na rin artsy ang mga pics. Wala na yung artistic angst. Ok lang. Ok lang na pangit pics ko, basta lang hindi ako depressed. :)

Sunday, March 21, 2010

80/365

Day80.

I told myself I'm never going shopping until it's payday. But, with the nice weather, and the sitting on the passenger seat part, I have no concerns but just to shop. I ended up buying stuff. Some I need, some I don't.

Shopping List and justification (as if I need to justify myself to anyone):
Optical Mouse - the one that I had was too small. 40 bucks for my carpal tunnel? I'd say 40 bucks for my carpal tunnel.
Laptop sleeve - I'd been wanting to get one since I bring purses and I just hold my laptop out. Fine, it's just a few steps walk from the parking to FM6, but still, I don't want anyone reporting me to ergo.
Coffee Table - this one's pretty cheap. 20 bucks for the table. Pwede rin syang dinner table, pag may take out. :)
Orchid (plant with flowers) - haha, totally unnecessary but was really pretty for 5 bucks! Tsk. Tsk. Since I had the Orchid, I needed to buy a pot.
Floor Lamp - I made a mistake a few months back. Intending to buy a Floor Lamp, I picked up a Desk Lamp at Ikea. I fixed my error today. (Uuuy, the irony of it! Haha tama bang asarin ang sarili?) . Pag may Floor Lamp, shempre kelangan ng light bulb.
Dog stuff toy - para kay Maia. Pero mukhang kay Iya sya mapupunta.
Swedish Meatballs - never go to Ikea without bringing a pack home!
Baby Clothes - I will be sending a box soon, so I stacked up on Berylle's clothes.
Dog Treats - shempre, my baby won't be without presents. I got him Bacon treats and Meaty Biscuits!
Neosporin - for the pimples! for the love of God!
Kerastase Hair Masque - I never get hair treatments here, so might as well indulge. Pretty expensive but should be worth it. I should bring it to the gym, go to the steam room with Masque on my hair.
Boxes for the package - finally!

I want to do a lot of stuff tonight, assemble the coffee table, build the floor lamp, start assembling the box for the package, work on my data so that I have something to present tomorrow in ops - but no - here I am blogging away!

I am sleepy. I'm going to bed after this post.

79/365

Day79.

What do you do when you oversleep until 12 noon? You sleep some more. Yes, that's how my Saturday started. After eating my lunch, I went back to sleep again(!). I just needed to work for a bit, and then I met up with Adam. We watched Cop Out with her sister. It was funny. Not as funny as how the trailers looked though.

Friday, March 19, 2010

78/365

Day78.

Happy birthday Jojo! Wish you all the love and happiness always. Thanks for the pizza. It was awesome. And the not-so "pinoy" Pinoy Henyo was fun.

Kamusta naman ang shopping galore?

Day77.

Nakakatawa to, galing to kay Duds. Basahin nyo, ang galing pala ni Duds magsulat. LOL

Once upon a time, there was a conquistador. Conquistadores, who used to be on local shores but set off to the west after a forgettable battle with an Indio, a local tribesman.

After arriving in the land of milk and honey, the conquistador immediately embarked on an adventure. She grazed into the Kingdom of Benhur, The White Chocolate Man better known as The Hanging Out King. A fierce battle ensued over the two rivals, and then darkness fell. As strong as she is, she came out defeated and crying. She gave everything to conquer the Hanging Out King but it's tough to conquer a king that would not engage, just as Clottey would not fight Pacman.

But the conquistador would not be defeated, she never learns her lesson. Down as she was, the conquistador would never refuse to engage in a battle. This is her life, the last piece of the puzzle that was never put in place. The crowning jewel of her saga. The conquistador has everything but the spoils of the war!

To uplift her spirit, she went punishing lesser fighters left and right. They wanted to fight but they were not given the chance. The conquistador would just smile and say, "you are just good for a free lunch..."

And now, as the conquistador is nearing the setting of the sun, (the conquistador is at her peak, may not last that long), she engaged a Polish warlord. May become the fight of the century. The conquistador was fast. She was able to break down the walls of the enemy in a matter of days. As a proof, the conquistador was able to conquer the ancestral home of the warlord. She has captured the folks of the fighter.

So there it goes. The conquistador is nearing her victory but who knows. She may soon go back and fight a local hero, an Indio. Only two things are definite - she will never learn her lesson and she will always be a conquistador. Goodluck conquistador! :)

The end.

Day76.

Sobrang LSS ako today ng theme song ng Iskul Bukol. Ang kulit kasi ni Russ, Iskul Bukol raw yung FQA Enabling meeting namin kanina. Eh totoo naman. Pa-bolonjongan. Hehe. Kumain kami ni Russ and Jojo sa Mizu after ng Iskul Bukol meeting. Tantanan...tananan.

St. Patrick's Day raw ngayon. Nagyaya sila kanina na magbeers raw sa Streets of London, in celebration of the holiday today.

LOL.

Day74.

A new friend told me that I'm awfully cynical. But am I? After all that I'd been through, I have every right to be cynical. Awfully at that. But I'm not. Thankfully, I'm not.

I was telling another friend today that my emotions right now are pretty simple - sleepy, hungry and lazy. No dramatics. I could not remember the last time that I was this basic. I like basic. Basic is good.

Even my photos are no brainer. Not thought of, just plain lousy. Still, lousy is good. :)

Day73.

I piggy backed on a motorcycle today, at 115mph in the freeway.
Went out at the American River Park, it was such a nice day. Sun was out and weather was nice. Too bad I forgot my camera, the geese and the birds on the river were such a picturesque scene.
I saw Franco for the first time! He's such a cute baby! And Maia is such a happy baby. I missed her a lot while I was in Israel. And after not seeing her for a very short time, Iya is so big now.
I used my gift certificate today at Red Lobster. Had some yummy lobsters.
Had a wonderful cup of coffee. Can't go without one.

Day72.

I did not do anything today. In between sleeping and being jetlagged, I managed to catch the Pacquiao-Clottey fight in PPV. It was quite entertaining with Pacquiao at one point doing a pompyang on Clottey.

I'm watching Star Wars Episode 3 now and I'm betting that it would be in a matter of minutes before I stop. I'm going to sleep soon. I'm so groggy.

I'm a cat.
