200/365

As much as I'd love to bake, I really don't have much time lately to do so. I always have a lot of baking ideas and decorations in mind, but I very rarely get to execute them, or if I get to, I am already cramming. Much like the cake and cupcakes that I'm supposed to make for Maddie - Adam's niece. It was 3 weeks ago since I learned that I'd be baking for her birthday and all the while, I had so much ideas on how to do it. It's a pool party, so I was imagining beach, shells - and most of all - umbrellas! Her party was yesterday and I thought since it's a Sunday, I will have plenty of time over the weekend. I have all Saturday to do everything. Wrong.

So I woke up Saturday at 12nn! I overslept and Adam was calling me at around lunch time, and he was even apologetic for having woken me up. Haha, I needed to wake up already! And then I had a mail that I had to pick up and the post office closes at 3 on Saturdays. So after a shower and a sandwich, I was headed to El Dorado Hills Post Office, only to find out that they made a mistake and my mail is actually in Folsom. So I drove back to Folsom, barely made it, got my mail and brought some stamps. It was already almost 4, and I went to Michael's to buy matching blue and pink ribbons, some glue, and some tissue to cover the cupcake tower. It was already 6 by the time I got home. And then I got on the phone, with my mom and with Adam. By the time I started mixing batter, it was already 8. Huge headache + oversleeping = yet another sleepy head. LOL.

To cut a long story short, I already have 34 chocolate chip cupcakes, 20 vanilla cupcakes, and a 6in cream cheese pound cake at 4am, fully decorated and ready to go. Talk about Iron Chef baking. I'm so sleepy. These was one of those days though that I got close to what I had in mind. Close but not quite. For one - those darn wilton paper cups are so nasty. I will never use those again to bake! I'm happy that I was able to incorporate the umbrellas in the design. The kids loved it.

Here's while I was setting up the cupcakes.

Day170.

It's a nice, sunny Saturday today. I have a real free day today because I have no plans - no date, no work, no whatsoever. I planned on sleeping in the entire morning since I haven't done that in a while, but I woke up relatively early at 930am with an empty stomach. I decided to bake a glazed lemon cake for breakfast, and I savored it with some of my roasted Jamaican coffee. It's a nice day today. :)

Day166.

My last real blog entry was last May17, it's been almost a month since I last blogged. Isn't it amazing how time flies? I was trying to think about what happened the last month, and all I could think of was endless long hours at the testers, working on weekends, eating McDonalds Quarter Pounder and Sweet Tea at 11pm since only McDonalds is open at that time.

So I paused for a while and went thinking.

The biggest thing that I could probably think of is my demise of my beloved Martha Stewart comforter. I was just trying to laundry it, so I put it in the washer and then after a few minutes in it, it was shredded! I didn't know that my washer worked as a shredder on the side. LOL. Oh well. Maybe it's meant to be. Maybe it's time to get a new comforter, if you know what I mean. ;) Oh so I did get a new one too, prettier and nicer. And the new comforter smells wonderful. Haha.

I went to Tahoe a few weekends back with Adam. Tahoe is fast becoming my own version of Baguio here. Pinupuntahan once every new season. I love Tahoe. We stayed at the same cabin that we were last winter.

I bought some new toys too over the month, a Canon 40D, a 17-55mm lens and a new 27-inch imac. I had been thinking about getting an imac for 2 years already but I cannot justify it since I have a wonderfully working pc. Then it died, woohoo! Even so, it took me a while to get that coveted imac because of some dilemma where to get it, if people are travelling to Oregon maybe they can get it for me since it's tax free there, or maybe I can drive up to Oregon myself and get it and what not. I was final-worded (haven't used this slang in a while! Embodiment ni Roy yang word na yan! LOL) by Adam, bitchily telling me to just get it once and for all. He said I had been talking about that damn imac ever since we met. And I was like, "Not! I had been talking about it for two years!". I really know how to make him laugh. LOL. So I got the imac excitedly, only to have it sitting in my living room for a week because I got too much work. Damn. Pretty much the same thing happened with the camera and the lens. It's still in its package, I haven't touched it since I got it because of too much work. I also pre-ordered the new iphone 4 today. I was so happy that I got through, after an hour of trying. How nerd can I get?

I watched very few movies this month too, I think we only went to the theater once this month and I can't remember what we watched. (Edit: it was Iron Man 2). We watched Law Abiding Citizen, the bluray we bought a month back, and only watched it last night.

I finally finished my press conference. Plancha galore ang lola mo because I had a month's worth of un-ironed clothes. It's refreshing to not have any plantsahin! LOL.

I was also pulled a few backs back for speeding at Iron Point. I was 23 miles over the speed limit, so I am expecting to pay up at around 400 bucks. Sayang pang-iphone na sana.

I can't remember anymore what else happened. I just suddenly had the time to write right now since they are fixing my tester. My darn tester won't work all day long, and I can't get anything done.

My days are still same same. SSDD as I always say - same stuff, different day. Hehe kala nyo same shit, different day no? Hehe. I'm way happier to be cursing, although re-reading my post again, I cursed a lot. Haha. I miss Creamy. I want to see Creamy my big, fat and lazy doggie.
